Nuggets vs Lakers: Injured LeBron misses his 1st game this season

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will miss his first game of the season Sunday against the Denver Nuggets, L.A. coach Frank Vogel announced before the game.

James is also dealing with a nagging groin issue, sources told ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

Kuzma will return to the lineup against the Nuggets on a playing-time restriction of 20 minutes, according to Vogel.

“We’re a next-man-up team, but this is not one guy that’s got to step up and fill [James’] shoes,” Vogel said.

Sunday will mark three days of rest for James since L.A. played last, against the Bucks.
